Have been using Practice Director for 6 months now after having no success with 2 other companies. I have been very pleased with the entire experience so far and look forward to working with this software as it matures.

Need to integrate with portal to send job orders directly to labs. I have been assured that this is a top priority and in the works soon.
Choosing Practice Director was the best decision I made for my practice!
Choosing this software turned out to be the best decision that I made when opening my practice. I love the system’s ability to implement all aspects of my business from the EMR to Scheduling to Accounting, and of course Billing. Everything is tied together in a very sensible, easy-to-understand format. Above all else, the customer support at Practice Director is unmatched. The support staff genuinely cares about the clients, and they are always able to answer my questions. I highly recommend Practice Director to anyone who is starting a practice, making the switch from paper to electronic records, or making a change from a different software.

I love this product and have had a few others when in school that I got to use and would not even consider changing now, I feel for the price and the ease of getting everything up and running that this is the best value out there.
EHR Review
Demo looks great, but actual program not so great.
We were only using a practice management system prior to going with an EHR. We had tried one other EHR prior to trying Practice Director, which was a total failure, so we thought we knew all the things that could go wrong. I demoed Practice Director and asked all the questions that we had problems with on the first EHR. We used it about 3 months and found major issues that weren't apparent in the demo. We tried working with support to get the issues resolved, but there were too many other issues they had ahead of us, so with no solid promise to fix our issues, we dropped them.
Two of the major problems we couldn't get around was: 1) every charge listed only procedure codes but no description, so the staff that did not do billing/insurance that didn't know the procedure codes had no idea what they were billing for. It also divided all items that had 2 units (ex: lens codes) into separate line items even if the code is the same, which created problems for a few of our insurance companies (they'd deny the second code as duplicate). 2) We run statements weekly at our office and once generated our current PM system would automatically bump the next statement date up 30-days - Practice Director does not. When contacted they said we'd have to run statements monthly. Our current system would look at any charges over 60-days old and automatically add the finance charge to the account - with Practice Director you had to look at each account and manually add the finance charge much the same as we did when we had the old ledger board system, pre-computer times! There was no way we were going to settle for anything less than our current system could do, so that is why Practice Director would not work for our office.
