Also, the portal needs work. They seem very resistance to the idea of a full ROS and medical history on the portal. If they would do this and have it upload in entirety to the EHR, we could save about 3 minutes of tech chair time per patient. The time allowance that could be saved by eliminating the extra ROS data entry comes out to about 400 more exam spots per year, per doctor. I'd also like to see them clean up the portal a bit and get rid of several lifestyle questions that only are applicable to a small percentage of patients. Make it clean and limit the questions to medical and ocular history only. Historically, my medical patients (glaucoma, diabetics, & pathology patients) complain about having to answer questions about eyewear preferences like transitions & AR coatings that are not related to their visit. If we could combine the portal from Uprise (it has full medical history & full ROS portal that uploads) with Revolution's EHR, then we'd have the best software ever.
Overall this is a great EHR in our first six months, like anything there are some headaches, but nothing too bad. Especially for the doctors this EHR is simple and easy to use, some of the ancillary staff tasks are a bit tougher though. I can't say enough about the support team, they're great.
BEST EHR for OPTOMETRY
Converting to an EHR made for some very stressful months, but we have been using Revolution for a year and a half now and we are definitely seeing the benefits. I would do it all over again with Revolution, no doubt. We completed our first year of MU in December 2012 and there is NO way I would have been able to do it withoout the support of Revolution and Dr. Jens

Scott Jens, OD, one of the founders is amazing. He does the best webinars and is passionate about making this software be the best. His integrity and the quality of the people around him is what makes RevolutionEHR the best eye care product available.
User customization of drop down menus which I believe they are working on as well.
Image integration - we upload and attach, but I understand they are nearly integrated with Zeiss Forum
Fantastic customer support and technology with the future in mind
Overall very pleased with the performance and especially the customer support.
I love that it is cloud based. We just need an internet connection for the program to work. There are no charges per computer station used. ALL upgrades are done at the company - no expensive and timely software upgrades in house. The support staff keeps us well informed when upgrades or enhancements take place. We sign in the next day and they have release notes for every change with step by step instructions on anything new.
I really appreciate the CEO being so invested into our success. He keeps us well informed of changes regarding meaningful use and compliance. There are several webinars, guides, and online forums to discuss with other doctors who are also using this product. This is great since we can learn from what works for others across the nation.
I also like how there are optometry specific modules and tests in this program. We are a primary care office but also do vision therapy. We were able to have testing templates customized for our vision therapy program.
The scheduling and templates are customizable, even for different doctors.
