We have been using this system since January 2008. The constant enhancements makes this system wonderful. Knowing they are continually working on the program is nice. We went with Revolution EHR because we were opening a satellite office and wanted seamless integration between the offices. Other systems (Compulink and OfficeMate) both hesitated when I said I wanted to be able to access ALL function of the system from either office. I wanted to be able to schedule patients from either location at either location and have a centralized billing department that could run both offices. With Revolution being web-based, I could have the billing dept in Baja and it would be no different then it being in the office.

That systems appearance is very sleek and well designed. It is pretty intuitive and easy to use with just a few exceptions. The low technical burden of a web based systems makes it very low maintenance. As long as you have a decent computer and internet access you are ready to go. Being able to complete work at home or anywhere for that matter. Using an EHR that was stated and owned by two private practice OD's who still practice makes me confident the system will be continue to improve in the way I need it to. Nearly every other month the system has an update with new features and the updates are included in the user fee. As the system improves I don't have to keep shelling out extra money to update, its always included. In fact, many of the suggestions my office has made show up in the updates. It is nice to feel like we have a say in how the system improves. Having no location or terminal fees is the best. All the other systems require you to have a license for every computer and every location that accesses the system. Here there are none. Since the office is going all electronic, I have a computer on nearly every open counter top. If I had to have a license for every system I would need a million of them! With other systems that would cost a fortune. |
| What needs work? | Some enhancements in the financial reporting would be nice. And the ability to data mine a little better. Although it is scheduled to be implemented soon, they need to get e-prescribing done. A patient portal to enter their own history before they come in would be nice. Again, this is in the works, but not available yet. |
