Avoid NextGen

Avoid this EHR like Yersinia pestis! I had a good job as Medcical Director of an FQHC and when NextGen was introduced, the time it took me to document a visit went from about 45 seconds to 5-7 minutes. The program is glitchy and customer service sucked. No thought was given to what I think of as "computer ergonomics," that is, minimizing number of clicks, making targets for the clicks reasonably large, etc. Early on I told our administrator to junk the system and get something good, that she was just going to waste good money after bad, but she felt she had too much invested already. I quit my job, got a job where I am back to 30-45 seconds documentation time per visit and am much happier.
