Practice fusion review
Tablet integration is in the works since last announced in Nov of 2011. Physians are told "some time" in 2012. Well nothing yet and you can't see your schedule at all with iOS devices. In fact, you can't use iOS devices with practice fusion unless you use logmein software which drastically kills the use of the program and reduced to font to microscopic size. With frequent disconnects in the office, this is not a solution. This program is adobe flash.
If you are looking for a free soluton to EHR, this is it. You can get your incentive, just don't come with expectations of getting requests for improvments done at a good speed. I was told they get thousands of request for software improvement. Well there you go. Thousands of people are requesting changes and as far as I've seen, it hasn't happened in the last 90 days.
I will addend my review when or if improvements are made

What do you like?
The user interface is pretty basic. No bells and whistles but it's free and credited towards the meaningful use insentive.
What needs work?
The templates don't flow. You have to recreate your notes for follow up visits which can be cumbersome. There is NO user customizations. No Font control, no Zoom control. No window control. If you are using a larger monitor, pass by this software until they can get this fixed. 30 inch monitors have to be taken out of native resolution to view this adobe flash program which does not respond to any browser zoom customizations. Reducing native monitor resolution really messes up that rest of your viewing experience if you have to do this. They have a forum where you can request a feature but mostly there's been no change in the program in the past 90 days of use and they are VERY SLOW to implement change. You can't send your notes to other physicians via the fax built in. Lab integration takes forever and I was denied. Although they advertise a free lab integration, it is cost driven and if you don't meet a certain criteria, you get denied. I've yet to have an explanation of denial after two months of request. They simple can't tell you at practice fusion.

What do you like?
customized templates to my liking. so so easy to train staff and set up. because it is web based, this system can be used on any type of computer that can link to the internet; PC or MAC. their customer service is great; send email and answer emailed back within 24 hours!!
What needs work?
integrating a larger selection of billing affiliates, besides KAREO, that is not MAC friendly. however, i can still do my own billing through my current clearinghouse in the mean time.

Very good online, free EHR.
I have been using this for a few months. Customizing the templates has taken some time but has made it very easy to use so far.

What do you like?
I like that it is free and web based. I use it for a satellite office so accessing it from home or out of town is very convenient. I like the customizable templates. It has made data entry 10 times faster than ExamWriter. Very functional for a free product.
What needs work?
It doesn't have a practice management side. No integration for billing as far as I can tell.
