Horrible Choice for EHR/PM

The software looked really good in the beginning and they had a brilliant, smooth talking salesman who could sell ketchup popsicles to a woman in white gloves. However, we were given a written quote that was supposed to be "all inclusive" but later found out that we had been quoted 40K under and needed to pay additionally. They took our 15% down payment and the total 85% lab donation that we received and then requested an additional 8K from the laboratory to perform the lab interface needed for the system although that was never set up.

In total, they took close to 90K from us and did absolutely nothing. They promised that their support team would take care of payor enrollment processes and training for the doctors and staff---we ended up doing most of the initial work ourselves. They started training and "trying" to set up 2 weeks prior to our SECOND scheduled go-live date- the trainers were late 50% of the time and went over the same material on 3 different sessions- they charged us a total of 18K for training on the quote form at $200 per hour and these sessions were done over a webex of all things.

We never met these people in person- nor did they even offer to make a trip to our office to introduce themselves or their product. We never signed a license agreement so we had no idea what was covered and what wasn't. We decided that if the sales and training portion was such a NIGHTMARE- then future business with this company would be a TOTAL disaster. We pulled out of the project prior to the go live date and asked for our money back. They stalled and stalled and finally sent us a letter that they were not refunding any of our money- or our lab donation- as they had put a lot of hours into our project. I would say that they put in about 20 total---how that's worth almost 100K- I'll never know. This company is disorganized- incompetent- unfair- and will TELL YOU ANYTHING just to get the check. Once the check is deposited ---you never hear from them. Dermatologist and all physicians- BEWARE

What do you like?
The EHR chart side seems to be optimal for dermatology and work flow and it LOOKS pretty user friendly and straight to the point.
What needs work?
The PM system is highly unsophisticated and difficult to manipulate for any purpose. Reports are lame. Scheduler is lame. Insurance information, clearinghouse capabilities are almost prehistoric.

Encite EHR

Initial training was horrible. My hour long scheduled session involved the trainer walking in late and then spending much of our time on a personal phone call. We were told the system was customizable and that we could build templates but we were never trained how to do it. The physical exam and diagnoses are full of misspellings and errors that we've worked on over the last year to fix, painstakingly, and they are still not all fixed. Every update brings new problems. The only good thing I can say is that working with this system and this company taught me everything I need to watch out for when I purchase my next system.
