As EHR and practice management software has evolved compulink's system has made it more difficult to manage and increase the profitability of our practice. They talk to us as if we do not have to see patients and have all the time in the world to program the software and work out the glitches. If the switching costs and pain to switch weren't so great we would have switched years ago. We may just have to bite the bullet and switch anyway. Recent updates which we paid them to make have pushed us to the brink. We would love to hear more positive success stories with other systems to make the switch, but we are still looking.

At one point a few years back, I was feeling much of the same frustration you have outlined with Eyecare Advantage. I then decided to, finally, start viewing Compulink's webinars--and I made certain that my staff did too. What a difference!
I'm not one to say that any piece of software will work for everyone or for all practices. And I'm definitely NOT a computer programmer--let alone a person who tends to read manuals on different products or, especially, computer software (how boring is that?). But I will say that allocating some time to view the webinars for Eyecare Advantage was a great investment. Nearly two years after "going live" with Compulink's EHR, we are very satisfied with the product.
So...if you and your staff haven't viewed the webinars, that is where I would definitely start as they can help you a great deal. Eyecare Advantage is definitely a highly sophisticated software program, with a set of features that meet or exceed any of the those offered from other offerings. But taking full advantage of all of the software capabilities does require a little bit steeper learning curve for doctors and staff alike. However, despite some initial investment of time to master the various aspects of the program, I think you will find that the pain on the frontside will pay off tremendously later on as you watch your colleagues struggle to transition into EHR with programs that provide far less flexibility and far fewer customizable features. Good luck and I hope your experience with the program becomes an easier one in the near future!
